EXEKO is a group of individuals, a team of ‘idea makers’ and project managers, who are at the helm of a vast network of partners and collaborators who prioritize a commitment towards society. We have given ourselves the following mandate: to establish a network of like-minded people, provide it with a viable framework that will enable us to carry out social and cultural projects.

Nadia Duguay – Co-founder and CEO
Nadia Duguay is the cofounder of Exeko. Previous to this project, she has had an active hand in setting up the Dia collective, the PS collective and l’Agora festif; she has worked as artistic director for many performance shows as well as installations and videos. She holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts and has completed a certificate in fine arts. She also followed a two year program based on international cooperation. She also focuses on bringing attention to humanitarian causes by producing documentary films. She is also involved in the creation and development of educational projects; for the last eight years, she has been teaching a wide variety of subjects in various settings: collegiate establishments, with prisoners and with people affected by various forms of mental deficiency. Nadia’s main focus is trying to understand how to disseminate knowledge and making it readily available through popularization and social integration.
François-Xavier Michaux – Co-founder and co-CEO
François-Xavier Michaux is the co-founder of Exeko. He holds a master’s degree in business engineering and another one in project management; he also holds a bachelor’s degree in financial management. Although his work experience is multifaceted, is favourite fields of operation are humanitarian aid, the environment, social and cultural initiatives. When living in France, he founded and presided over three major student associations. He also was in charge of a construction site in the Pacific. He has been residing in Quebec since 2005. Since then, he has held different positions as project coordinator in Montreal, including at the Secrétariat des Journées de la Culture and at Cirque du Soleil. Cofounder of Exeko, he now puts all of his energies in the development and management of socio-cultural projects favouring the forward movement of a society based on responsibility and accountability.
Simon Marseille - Director of Educational Programs
Versed in philosophy, interface and programming, Simon is passionate about information and its structures. With work and leadership experiences at the MIT, Research Canada and several private projects, he has a privileged view in information management, its applications, interfaces and interactions with our lives. In philosophy, he tackles demarcation and identity problems. Simon is working with Exeko to share and expand his experience in higher application spheres.
Aurélie Guyot - Coordinator of Development and Educational Services
Trained as a musician and a conductor, Aurélie Guyot first graduates in Political Science before going back to the cultural area with a master’s degree in Artistic Direction of Cultural Projects. Then, she uses her versatility to add up professional experiences in France, in Montreal, and in Boston. She will get trained in many areas, including event planning, festivals, political communication, and international cultural cooperation. While working for Exeko, Aurélie is looking forward to get more experience in projects that are targeted toward a more diverse audience.
Maïlis Burgaud - Coordinator of Cultural Action and Communication
Committed and engaged to popularize the access to culture, Maïlis Burgaud first studied Arts mediation and Communication in France before leaving for London. Then she acquires a double Masters’ degree in management of arts activities, and economy and management of tourism and entertainment professions. Since very young, Maïlis participates and co-directs the creation of several associations with the watchword "Culture for everybody". Her professional experience, largely related to her associative commitment, led her to practice project management, communication and production of cultural event. Besides that, she is in charge of promoting junior artists and applies to learn the operation of French Cultural Institutions in assisting the Management of a theater in Paris. Today Maïlis Burgaud works with Exeko to develop her skills in sensible project management.
Maxime Lee Larose - Coordinator and counselor – Trickster Effect
After a beautiful carrier with the Canadian national team of canoeing and a dragon boat world championship medal, Maxime Lee Larose joins the George Brown theatre school in Toronto in 1999. In parallel, he gets involved as a volunteer in the Toronto Distress Center suicide prevention programs. Once his training completed, he starts a trip around the world, and stops in Nepal where he develops an English program that aims at help young people to find a job as guides.
In 2003, Maxime settles down in Montreal where he acts as a coordinator and a leader, trains competitive dragon boat teams, is a personal trainer, a nutritionist, or even works in team building projects. He also works as a comedian in theatre and television. He is currently specializing in clown techniques while studying at the Francine Coté clown school, and works as a therapeutic clown with Dr. Clown in Montreal hospitals since 2007.
In 2007, Maxime Lee Larose starts visiting a series of Aboriginal communities in Quebec in order to offer them shows and activities In 2009, he goes to Africa, in Lesotho, to organize shows along with a psychological support program with HIV/AIDS orphans.
Cyril Assathiany - Social worker in circus art
Cyril Assathiany has worked in the circus and animation field for several years. He worked as a social circus instructor with Cirque du Monde, where he taught circus in Canada, Africa and the Middle East. Cyril is involved as a stilt-walker, juggler and comedian in many projects including: Founder of Holmium, LaboKrakboom and the Dia collective. Cyril rethinks the circus in its collective foundations.

Richard Mercier – Translation, writing
Richard Mercier is a freelance translator, musician, shiatsu therapist, who has also studied philosophy and comparative religion in Scotland and England. His multidisciplinary approach is fuelled by a deep interest for humanity, society and the environment, thus sharing Exeko’s basic and intrinsic values. He has translated The Memory Box (Traces et mémoire), a documentary film produced by Exeko, and is a collaborator on different projects.
Thomas Schamasch - Eco-consultant
Trained as a civil engineer, Thomas Schamasch specializes in environmental management, energetics and international cooperation. Deeply motivated by socio-environmental values, he has a vast knowledge of environmental issues, the existing alternatives and the means by which viable solutions can be put into place. Having been involved in different student associations in Europe (he created three of them in France and Spain) and creating an environmental evaluation platform for the International Olympic Comity, Thomas now lives and works in Quebec. Self-employed, he specializes in the fields of renewable energies, energy conservation and eco-responsibility. Thomas has been involved with Exeko since its inception and helps the organization put into place a clear environmental vision.

Johanna Autin - Cultural project manager and artistic management support
Johanna Autin shares her practice between textile installation, performance, video and relational art. Born in France, she studied in Dublin and in Montreal where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture at Concordia University. After diverse experiences, including teaching weaving to autistic people, traveling, and a training in interdisciplinary performing arts in France, she is back in Montréal undertaking Entre 2 arbres project as part of her Masters of Fine Arts, in Fibres.
