Goals
General goal
Bring the learner to upgrade his personal and social skills through knowledge transmission and by familiarizing himself with new skills, reflective tools and by a series of concrete individual or collective initiatives designed to help him achieve proper interaction within the social context.
By following an intervention approach adapted to the requirements and needs of each targeted clientele, the ACS program can be used as a prevention tool to prevent criminalization of young people at risk, to prevent the regression loop caused by the detention environment,, to prevent drop-outs with learning disabilities, etc.
Underlying goals
- A successful reintegration of society by the learners
- Generating a feeling of having gained both aptitude and knowledge
- Validating knowledge by cultivating intellectual curiosity
- Marginalizing the feeling of failure due to the setbacks encountered within the educational system and in society
- Nurturing critical thinking by integrating customized tools designed to help the individual reflect, express himself and communicate
- Taking an outward looking attitude at expanding one’s general knowledge
- Raising one’s consciousness regarding social issues and learning to understand world evolution
- Widening the learner’s awareness of his surroundings and instilling a sense of responsibility in order to encourage him to be committed to be a positive force and contributor to society.
