Montreal, February 4th, 2010 - From February 11th to April 4th, Espace Hortense will present a collection of humanitarian works by photographer Wayne Schoenfeld. This exhibition is made of two series of humanitarian photo reports taken during three Exeko missions in Ethiopia and Nepal. The private view of the exhibition will be directly followed by a screening of the documentary “The Memory Box,” shot in Ethiopia and produced by Exeko, and by a discussion with the producer.

Ethiopia – 2006/07 l Through this world but once
This series aims at drawing a portrait of the human experience behind the humanitarian act. Three portraits are mixed together: the Ethiopian people, real, humble, and proud; the Rotaplast medical team in action; our soul therapist, Dawish the Clown.

Nepal - 2008
Three clowns, a surgical team, and a Nepal population at a democratic turning point. These are the elements that will build this story of both touching and difficult pictures. This series is a very personal work about universal themes such as love, war, life, death, and revival.
